The edge-contracted icosahedron is a convex, but not strictly-convex, polyhedron with 18 triangular faces. It has coplanar faces which, when combined, make the edge-contracted icosahedron a convex triamond polyhedron. This variant is abstractly equivalent to the sphenocorona.
