# Inversion symmetry (3D)

**Three-dimensional inversion symmetry**, also known as **inversic symmetry** and notated as **±(I×I×I)**, is a 3D spherical symmetry group. It is the symmetry group of the parallelepiped and corresponds to central inversion symmetry with no additional symmetries. It is a subgroup of octahedral and icosahedral symmetry, but not tetrahedral symmetry.
